Drapery Doctor exists because of a problem we kept seeing in the industry. Customers would go to curtain and blind companies with perfectly fixable problems — a snapped cord, a dropped hem, a lining that had seen better days — and be told the same thing: we don't do repairs, you'll need to buy new ones. Or worse, the conversation would simply end there.

The majority of large curtain and blind companies have moved their manufacturing overseas — to facilities in countries like Turkey, China, and Poland. As a result, they have no skilled craftspeople in the UK capable of detailed repair work. Re-lining a Roman blind, for example, requires the same level of skill as making one from scratch. In many ways it's more demanding, because you're working within the constraints of an existing piece rather than starting fresh. It takes a skilled, experienced craftsperson. And most commercial operations simply don't have one.

Drapery Doctor was built to fill that gap. We are a dedicated repair and restoration service for curtains and blinds — staffed by skilled, experienced people who genuinely know this craft. We don't sell new curtains or blinds. We don't have a collection to push you towards. Our only goal is to fix what you already have.
